According to National Institution for Transforming India (Niti ayog) 163 million Indians lacking access to safe drinking water.

GSS have started drilling water wells in the year 2001 to provide fresh and clean drinking water in the Tribal villages and in poorer communities where there is greater water scarcity. So far, we have made about 1500 water wells in poorer and rural villages. Poor people are very thankful for the clean water.

GSS invites local officials for the opening of every water well and maintains a record of every water well.  Local community take the responsibility of future repairs and maintenance of the water wells.
