Orphans and Abandoned Children:
There are 444 Million Children in India under the age of 18 years. This constitutes 37% of the total population in the country according to census 2011. http://uk.cry.org/projects/statistics-of-children.html. 1 in 4 children of school going age is out of school in the Country from which, 99 million children in total have dropped out of school. According to United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), India has 29.6 million orphaned and abandoned children. Oct 30, 2018. The Government of India helping big time child Development, Educational and Social programs to transform children of the Country into better future, despite there is great space where NGO’s like us can take a part of helping poor and needy children of the Country in providing holistic development.
GSS work for Orphans, Poor and Needy Children:
On June 12, 1994, Brother Jacob & Elizabeth started the first orphanage with three children in a backward village called Duginepalli. From that humble beginning today, GSS is helping about 6500 poor and needy children/students. Through our Grace Boarding Schools we are providing education, accommodation, food, medical care and etc.,. Through Child Development Centers we are providing food supplies and Educational Supplies to the poor and needy children.
Also helping students those who are in the colleges and Universities. During this academic year 2022-2023, GSS helped 5183 poor students with Educational Supplies to the students of rural Government schools, in the presence of School Head Masters and local authorities.
In the past 28 years, many children who grew up in the Grace Children Homes are married and now having families. These students who grew up are thankful for the services given by GSS.
GSS established educational Institutions to provide quality education from Primary School to High school and Junior Colleges, Vocational College, Nursing school, Industrial Training Institute (ITI).
